Learn the elements of jewelry design, the types of stringing materials, the different tools used in jewelry making, and how to string beads and attach a clasp. | | INTRODUCTION TO WIRE WORKING | The Wire Working Class is an introduction to working with metal wire in beaded jewelry. You will learn about the different types of wire, practice simple wire work wrap techniques and gain familiarity with tools that are essential for making many earring, necklace and bracelet designs. Manipulate silver wire to create 2 pair of earrings using semi-precious and pearl beads. Perfect if you want to design/make earrings.

| | BRIOLETTE WRAP WITH CHAIN | This advanced class is open only to those who are already proficient with simple wire wraps. Create a stylish pair of earrings incorporating three lengths of chain and stone using the briolette wrap. Sterling ear wires and chain. Use the techniques you learn with necklaces as well.

| | WIRE COILING | This advanced class is open only to customers who have experience with precision wire wrapping. You will create a unique pendant out of sterling silver wire and a semi-precious stone. First you will hammer the wire to create a template, then you will wrape this with coils of wire. Create a loop on top for your chain, and attach a stone, and you have a lovely pendant.

| | KNOTTING WITH SILK | Traditional European knotting technique artfully protects delicate beads like pearls and semi-precious stones from rubbing against each other. In our Knotting with Silk Class you will learn how to use silk cord to enhance your jewelry designs. Select from an assortment of freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones and fine silk cord to create a hand-knotted necklace. Finish off your traditional creation with a sterling silver clasp. Basic stringing knowledge required.

| | MULTI-STRAND | For more advanced beaders only; must be familiar with stringing and crimping. Learn how to design and make multi-strand necklaces and bracelets. This class will show different design approaches to multi-strand, how to measure and finish using cones and multi-strand clasps. You will select from black onyx or fresh water pearls, complemented by Swarovski crystals or daisy spacers, to make your own special triple strand bracelet with a cone and lobster claw clasp.
